Church accounting,
done properly.

A double-entry ledger for Reformed congregations. The AI reads any bank statement, members give online, and the statements your auditor asks for print straight from the books. No desktop install, no separate membership program.

Reformeer Finance: transactions with income, expenses and net balance.
finance.reformeer.org

A real double-entry ledger.

Every transaction is a parent with one or more balanced legs (debit and credit) against a bank account or chart-of-accounts line. Legs must balance before posting. Every report, trial balance, income statement, balance sheet, ties back to source.

Custom chart of accounts per council: income, expense, asset, liability, equity
Multi-leg journal entries: split a single payment across multiple categories
Account types: bank, COA, all reconciled in one ledger
Trial balance, income statement, balance sheet auto-generated
Period-on-period comparison: month-over-month, year-over-year
Per-row review before commit: nothing is auto-posted

The documents your auditor asks for.

Balance sheet, income statement, trial balance, list of journals and the general ledger. Print any of them as PDF or Excel from the same figures, so the two files cannot disagree. The balance sheet prints its own proof: liabilities plus funds, assets, and the difference between them.

Balance sheet as at any date, with the difference shown
Income statement for a period, or month by month across a year
Summarised to one line per group, or every account
Trial balance and general ledger with a running balance
List of journals, debits and credits per entry
Every statement as PDF or Excel, from one set of figures

Close the period. The books stop moving.

When the month is signed off, lock it. Every write path then refuses a date inside it: manual entries, bank statement imports, journal imports and bulk approvals. Reopen it if you must, and the lock lifts everywhere at once.

Drop in any bank statement. The AI does the rest.

Upload a CSV, PDF, or Excel statement from any bank. Column layout, date format and decimals are detected automatically, no manual mapping. The AI suggests a category and matching member; a finance officer reviews before posting.

Format detection is AI-driven: any CSV, PDF or Excel layout works without templates. Around 90% of transactions classify automatically; the rest are surfaced for review.

The same AI scored 96/100 on the CREDO theological-reliability benchmark

Ring-fence funds the way deacons actually need them.

Congregations rarely run on a single pot: building fund, missions, diaconal funds. Reformeer models these as envelopes: income flows in, expenses deduct, balances always visible. Each envelope reconciles against its equity line, so books and ring-fencing stay in lockstep.

Online tithes that flow straight to your church's bank account.

Per-council Paystack subaccount, Reformeer never holds your funds. Once-off (card, EFT, instant EFT, SnapScan, mobile) or recurring monthly. Every transaction reconciles against the ledger automatically. Year-end statement for every member.

Bring your books across in one upload.

Many congregations still run on Windows desktop accounting with annual licence fees, or on split membership/finance programs that never quite talk. Reformeer replaces both. Migration is a one-time event:

Trial balance import

Export your trial balance to CSV or Excel. Reformeer detects the column layout and creates the opening-balance journal entries.

Journal entry bulk import

Bring across historical detail: upload journal entries as CSV or Excel. Reformeer validates debit-equals-credit per entry and posts them en masse.

Member data import

Send us your member data in any format, our team handles the import into Office. No manual prep required.

What Reformeer does not do.

It does not run payroll and it does not file VAT. Most churches keep payroll where it is and journal the totals in, which is what the salary and PAYE control accounts are for. We would rather say so now than after you have moved your books.

Audit-ready by default.

Every transaction records its source, user and timestamps. Edits create new audit records, nothing overwritten. Tithe legs trace to the giving member. Per-council isolation, gated access, encrypted on Google Cloud with daily backups.

No installation. No upgrades. Any device.

Reformeer runs in the browser. The treasurer posts a journal from a laptop on a Sunday afternoon; an elder checks the building-fund balance from a phone in a council meeting; an auditor logs in from anywhere with read-only access. No Windows-only constraint, no "update before you can open this file", no annual licence cycle. You always have the latest version.

Financial insights

Period-on-period tables compare this month's tithes against last, this year's benevolence spend against last year's. Always live: no monthly export ritual.

What councils are saying.

GK BloemburgGK Bloemburg
The migration from our previous system was simple and accurate, without a single member record falling through the cracks. Good administration contributes to good ministry, and for that we are very grateful to Reformeer.

I felt comfortable trying things out, knowing any possible 'mistakes' could be put right. Reformeer is reachable from any device, so the congregation's information is always accessible. The support and customer service is phenomenal.
